Thomas Ots is an MD and holds a PhD in medical anthropology.
He recieved his basic training in TCM in Beijing and Nanjing between 1978 and 1985. He is a lecturer at the Medical University Graz, Austria, teaches acupuncture for several German and Austrian acupuncture societies and serves the German Journal of Acupuncture (DZA) as its Editor-in-Chief since 1998.
In his medical work he integrates acupuncture with various forms of psychotherapy. He has published widely on Chinese medicine, inspired by medical history and anthropology as well as phenomenology of perception.
