Join us for this hands-on one-day workshop exploring two powerful Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques that support women through pregnancy, birth, and recovery.
Morning Session: Acupressure for Labour Preparation and Birth
Learn how targeted acupressure can help prepare the body for birth, support natural labour onset, and relieve pain during delivery.
Participants will gain a solid understanding of:
• The physiological effects of acupressure on uterine blood flow, cervical dilation, and hormonal balance
• Practical point combinations for labour preparation, induction, and pain relief
• How to teach simple techniques to patients and their birthing partners — enhancing partner involvement and reducing the need for pharmacological interventions
Acupressure is a safe, non-invasive method shown to reduce epidural and caesarean rates, while helping mothers feel more relaxed and empowered during birth.
Afternoon Session: Moxibustion for Breech, Anaemia & Postnatal Recovery
In the second part of the day, we focus on moxibustion — the gentle warming of acupuncture points using moxa sticks.
Participants will learn:
• The correct use of moxibustion for breech presentation (Bladder 67) and how it can help reduce elective caesarean sections
• How to support blood building and alleviate anaemia during pregnancy
• Postnatal applications to replenish Qi and blood, ease fatigue, and promote emotional balance
Moxibustion is an effective, accessible self-care technique that can be safely used by practitioners, patients, and their partners alike — fostering confidence, connection, and wellbeing throughout the perinatal journey.
