Gynäkologie und Andrologie, Fu Qing-zhu: Gynäkologie aus der frühen Qing-Dynastie

Ineke van den Berg (Niederlande)

Ineke van den Berg, PhD, is a physiotherapist – acupuncturist and herbalist who holds a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology.

She has practiced as a physiotherapist and shiatsu therapist for more than 32 years and as an acupuncturist and herbalist (Chinese Herbal Medicine) for 21 years, with a special interest in obstetrical problems and complex pain disorders as CRPS type 1.

She has an extensive number of contacts among acupuncturists, including contacts in China and the USA. As post-doc, she works in the department of Epidemiology & Radiology of the Erasmus University MC, Rotterdam.

In addition, she supervises and works in her own private clinic for Complementary Medicine ‘Rodenrijs‘

The synergy between modern medicine and complementary health care, and the value of blending these disciplines, has been the focus of the work of Ineke van den Berg. Her aim is to identify the strengths and limitations of acupuncture and moxibustion, as described in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and evaluate how these therapies can be implemented in modern medicine.

By performing clinical studies in an academic setting you can enable the translation of evidence-based research to evidence-based practice and establish a scientifically recognizable and thus more reliable position for complementary medicine.

This is of interest not only to the physicians and therapists, who developed or applied treatments, but also to policymakers and of course the patient.
