After six years of studies in modern applied linguistics (French, Spanish) in Heidelberg I turned towards studies in Chinese culture and language, German philology and medical history in Heidelberg and Munich. Between 1990 and1992 during my stay in Taiwan I studied Chinese medicine at a private Highschool for Chinese medicine. Back in Munich I finished my PhD thesis in 1999. Further studies in western medicine (Witten-Herdecke) followed, my second PhD thesis was finished in 2010. Meanwhile I have been working in my practice near Heidelberg, the focus of my treatments being on Chinese medicine. Besides my practical work I wrote several books about different aspects of Chinese medicine as well as journal articles. Between 2004 and 2013 I worked as a teacher and interpreter of Chinese medicine in Heidelberg and Beijing.
