Dr Stéphane Espinosa is working in the Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCI) Unit of the Department of Service Delivery and Safety, World Health Organization (WHO). He is currently involved in the implementation of the “WHO Traditional Medicine Strategy 2014-2023,” working in knowledge building with the development of a TCI knowledge platform and international terminology. In the field of standards and norms, since 2014 he has participated in the revision process of the International Classification of Diseases, 11th Revision (ICD-11), with emphasis on quality assurance and the development of the supplementary Chapter on Traditional Medicine Conditions – Module I. Dr Stéphane Espinosa has an extensive and varied background with diplomas ranging from physics to engineering and healthcare, specializing in traditional and complementary medicine. He is a licensed acupuncturist. His professional experience spans from Asia to Europe and South America. Prior to WHO, Dr Espinosa worked in private, multidisciplinary clinics.
