When it comes to validating the claims of Chinese Medicine, there are generally two schools of thought. One states that the time-honored tradition of Chinese Medicine is itself a testament to its efficacy. The other states that scientific evidence is necessary for Chinese Medicine to be accepted into the mainstream Western Medicine establishments.
Thanks to advances in technology and the design of clinical trials, research is not only increasingly showing that acupuncture and herbal medicine provide significant clinical benefits in many diseases, but also providing insight as to how. During the 1-day seminar we will be:
• Reviewing the basics of clinical research and evidence-based medicine
• Exploring the methodology of clinical studies in TCM and evaluating the significance of results
• Utilizing clinical findings to substantiate ancient medicine in our daily communications with patients and health professionals
• Discuss examples of current research findings in key therapeutic areas such as Pain management, Migraine, Fertility, Shen disorders and Oncology
Participants will understand why TCM research is important and how it serves as a real tool as therapists in our day-to-day.
