Translational Medicine, as defined by the European Society for translational Medicine is "an interdisciplinary branch of the biomedical field supported by three main pillars: bench side, bedside, and community". The goal of translational medicine is to combine disciplines, resources, expertise, and techniques within these pillars to promote enhancements in prevention, diagnosis, and therapies.
Accordingly, translational medicine is a highly interdisciplinary field, the primary goal of which is to coalesce assets of various natures within the individual pillars in order to improve the global healthcare system significantly.
I am a trained Chinese medicine practitioner, and I have been practicing this occupation for the past 30 years. In December of 2003, I began treating a patient with CLL using Chinese medicine herbs. The success of this treatment inspired me to embark on a new, challenging, and enriching journey that exposed me to worlds I never expected to encounter. These include science, clinical and pre-clinical trials, herbs biology, intellectual property, regulations, production and maintenance, commerce and marketing, and much more.
Throughout my journey, I faced numerous difficulties and obstacles, and I overcame each one with determination and persistence. This professional journey had a profound impact on both my practice and personal growth. My technique has evolved and matured, and I learned to value focus, accuracy, holistic understanding, and humility in relation to nature's strength and wisdom. I also gained a deeper appreciation for traditional Chinese medicine and its potential for integration and synthesis with other disciplines.
Starting with just one patient with CLL almost 20 years ago, my practice has expanded to include the treatment of various conditions such as skin diseases and autoimmune diseases. We now have Medovie, a company with the New 3HX Smart Circle system for Chronic skin care Natural and effective solution for irritated skin conditions that serves thousands of patients, and our products are sold worldwide, with more in development.
Drawing on the knowledge and experience I gained, I also got involved in other projects such as preparation methods of herbs, DUNT 1 -herbs for diabetes treatment, and DUI YAO – unique and very effective herbs combination.
In this lecture, I will share my journey and the various steps I took to get where I am today. My hope is to inspire others to embark on a similar journey and offer my assistance to those who might need it.
