PCO Syndrome: Advanced Chinese Herbal Medicine Strategies for Complex Presentations
      Lily Lai (GB)
      Course details
      Lily Lai

Are you seeing a lot of complex PCOS patients and not sure where to start? Do you get frustrated with the lack of treatment progress in some of your patients?

In this session, we’ll go through the most common PCOS presentations in clinical practice that used to stump me in my early years of practicing. I’ll discuss a number of effective strategies I’ve developed over the past decade of specialising in this area having completed an NHS-sponsored PhD on building the evidence-base for using Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of PCOS. This session will combine scientific evidence, clinical wisdom and practical know-how specifically on the use of Chinese herbs for this common condition so that you can offer even more effective support to your patients.

Stress and the desire to have children - the evidence-based view
      Dr. Tewes Wischmann (DE)
      Course details
      Tewes Wischmann

If you enter "desire to have children" and "inner blockage" in Internet search engines, you will be referred to dozens of websites. By dissolving "inner blockades", e.g. by means of hypnosis therapy, family constellation seminars, card reading or fertility massage, affected women are supposed to be able to finally fulfill their desire to have children. From a scientific view such offers are to be called predominantly "business with the bad conscience". This lecture will explain to what extent stress is to be considered (co-)causal for an unfulfilled desire to have a child from an evidence-based point of view. The significance of stress as a consequence of involuntary childlessness will also be discussed here.
