Gordon Faulkner, author of the award-winning book ‘Managing Stress with Qigong’, is the Director and Principal Instructor of the Chanquanshu School of Daoist Arts, a school that teaches yangsheng (nourishing the vital principle) practices that include ‘internal’ martial arts, Chinese therapeutic massage and Daoist meditation. He is a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society, a long-time member of the Society for Anglo-Chinese Understanding, and has been teaching for almost fifty years.
He is recognised for his outstanding abilities in these fields in both the West and in China. Professor Zhang Guangde of the Beijing University of Physical Exercise made him a first generation successor to the Daoyin Yangsheng Gong lineage and a Senior International Daoyin Judge certified by both the China Daoyin Yangsheng Gong Association and the China Wushu Society. He is also a 15th generation master of Wudang Quan from the Wudang Xuanwu Pai lineage.
