Sharon Weizenbaum began her practice of Chinese medicine in 1983. After following the well-know herbal gynecologist, Dr. Zhu Shu-Rong, She traveled to Hang Zhou, PRC to study both language and herbal gynecology. She met her teachers, Dr. Qiu Xiao-Mei and Cheng Yu-Feng and translated Dr. Qiu's Experience in Gynecology into English. Ms. Weizenbaum has returned to study in China several times, studying classic formulas with Dr. Huang Huang and Dr. Feng Shi-Lun.
Ms. Weizenbaum has taught around the world, at conferences and through workshops. Since 1999, She has taught a two-year graduate level mentorship program through White Pine Institute, where she is the director. She has hundreds of students from around the world. Her program is known for helping practitioners clarify their diagnostic skills so that herbal treatment can be accurate and, therefore, effective. Much of the material used in her program is original texts that she translates herself.
She practices in Amherst, Massachusetts where she also runs a small farm with her family.
